I really can’t explain the first, one-star customer review of this product at Amazon. I guess that you can get a lemon in anything. This is not a dangerous product, as the review said. Makita is a reputable manufacturer. This saw is and LOOKS high quality. It is beautifully finished and well balanced, with all of the controls and adjustments in the right places. The 5007MGA is essentially the same saw as the highly rated 5007MG, with an important safety improvement, an electronic brake. It also is a bit lighter, 10.1 vs. 10.4 lbs. Potential buyers should search Amazon for the customer reviews of the 5007MG. They will describe what a superb tool this saw really is. I have had two near-misses on other saws after the guard jammed with sawdust, keeping the rotating blade exposed after I set them down. So, I consider a blade brake a “gotta-have”. I wish the consumer protection agencies would mandate them on all power saws. They cause more brush wear, but brushes are cheap by comparison.

Nice and Powerful

I just bought this circular saw recently to do some project and I am amazed how good it is. The tool is very powerful and easy to work with. The extra features such as the led lights and the adjustable angels make it very easy for me to do my job. The weight is no so much to worry about since I am an average person and I can handle it very well. I just have this thing for a few weeks now and I am pretty much enjoying it. I am very excited about this tool and now since I enjoy having it so much I start to have more projects for me to do. Overall, it is a very good tool and I give Makita all the credit. Why spend your money on DeWalt while you can get the same quality with Makita with less money. I would recommend anyone bying this tool.
